With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Wickliffe Blue Devils
Team Name: Wickliffe Blue Devils

Division: III
2017 Record: 15-13
Conference Record: 6-8, 4th
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/2
2018 Team Strengths:

Coach Outlook: "We are very inexperienced on the varsity level. We also lack overall depth in our program. We only return one starting pitcher from a year ago and Dom accounts for 47 1/3 innings pitched out of 54 total for our returners. However, we aren't going to use inexperience as an excuse as we want to be competitive and win as many games as possible. Our league is incredibly strong so there is never an off day in that 14 game league season. We may struggle at times but our goal is overall improvement each game. Some of our more inexperienced players are still struggling to grasp that there is a huge difference between the game play at the JV level compared to the varsity level.”
PBR Outlook: The 2018 season looks to be a rebuild year for coach Phil Motta and the Wickliffe Blue Devils.
