2023 PBR All-American Game, Spotlight: Hunter Carns

On Saturday, Sept. 23, Prep Baseball Report is hosting its inaugural High School All-American Game at American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. The unique event will feature the nation’s top high school seniors who are set to battle against a roster of the country’s best juniors in Class of 2024 vs. Class of 2025 action, giving pro scouts a unique look at current and future draft classes.

We’ve begun to unveil the event’s participants on our social media channels, and we’ll spotlight those players more closely on our site, too, highlighting past performances and scouting reports from the live looks we’ve gathered on this gifted group throughout the years.

We're highlighting Florida native Hunter Carns, a Florida State recruit and one of the top-ranked backstops in the nation's senior class. Carns showed well across multiple looks this summer, starting off with a strong NPI before putting on an absolute show at PBR Florida's Top Prospect Games. Following an impressive summer, Carns will bring his heavy toolset to Milwaukee later this month.

Prep Baseball Report's VP of Scouting Shooter Hunt spoke highly of Carns after the PDP this summer: "Coming off a strong showing at the NPI, Carns appeared ready to continue riding an upward trend in the class. Uber-athletic with some lean strength throughout a 6-foot, 190-pound frame, the right-handed hitter features a somewhat unorthodox crouched setup with the hands working semi-deeper in separating with a short stride. Gaining strength from the ground up with a firm base, it is the bat speed that stands out above all else, and Carns utilized it well in striking a firm barrel to each and every swing, handling situational rounds with ease as the barrel accuracy and manipulation was present."
