Top Spin Rates From The Summer
This summer, PBR Ohio rolled out our initial trial with the Rapsodo 2.0 units.
Players that elected to become a part of the Rapsodo system were able to view their results from summer events.
The Rapsodo Pitching Unit 2.0 provides instant data on pitch velocity, spin rate, true spin rate, spin axis, and spin efficiency as well as strike zone analysis, horizontal and vertical break, 3D trajectory, and now release information. Rapsodo measures the impact of spin on every ball and shows the actual flight of a pitched baseball, calculating the corresponding trajectory of the same pitch without spin.

As we all know, baseball has always been a numbers game and with the rise of pitching velocity, home runs and strikeouts, many other numbers have been created to help scouts, front office executives and managers create advantages on the baseball diamond.
Two metrics that help measure different aspects of baseball are spin rate and exit velocity. In this article we are going to be talking about spin rate, to read about exit velocity, click here.
The highest spin rate in 2019 was Chris Stratton at 3105 RPM. Four guys, Ryan Pressly, Seth Lugo, Jesse Hahn, along with Stratton were above 3000 RPM, while 121 different MLB pitchers were 2500+ RPM in 2019.
