By Dylan Hefflinger

ARCHBOLD- Sandusky Perkins came out swinging against 7th-ranked Bryan en route to a 9-1 victory to advance to the Division II district finals.

The game was a pitching duel between juniors Blake Kuzmaul of Bryan and Perkins' Cameron Waldock, that is, until the Pirates exploded for seven runs in the fourth inning, six coming with two outs.

Perkins batted through the lineup, sending  11 batters to the dish, collecting six hits. Junior Quintin Cantelli and senior Ryan Ebert had two-run singles in the frame. The Pirates scored seven in the inning to put them up 8-0.

Bryan, which grounded into a double play with the bases loaded in the first inning, tallied their only run on an RBI single from senior Tanner Vollmer in the sixth inning. However, Perkins matched the run in the bottom half of the frame.

Waldock went the distance allowing just one run on six hits and three walks, while striking out seven.
