Evans Diamond, Berkeley, CA - The D1 2020 season is just around the corner and Fall Games are a great way to get a look at the talent for the season and upcoming MLB Draft. On 11/2/19 we checked out the fall college game between Saint Mary’s and Cal, two teams looking to make their way up the rankings in an area loaded with D1 talent.

Today we will break down the Saint Mary’s draft-eligible players and future draft-eligible players who caught our eye for the 2020 season and beyond. With a new coaching staff and playing in the always competitive West Coast Conference, Saint Mary’s will be looking to mix some new pieces with their veteran depth for a shot at making the playoffs again in 2020.

Saint Mary’s Gaels:

2020 Draft Players:
RHP Carlos Lomeli - Junior
At 6’2, 195, Lomeli started the game for SMC with a strong two inning outing seeing him strike out three and get three other weak outs. Working with a low-3/4 slot, smooth circular backside arm action and calm cool mound presence, Lomeli can sink the fastball (89-91, T92 MPH) and showed control on both sides of the plate consistently working down in the zone.
