Indiana Insider: A Look at Five Top Performers from the Hoosier Holiday Showcase

On Saturday, December 3rd, we hosted the Hoosier Holiday Showcase at Roundtripper Sports Academy in Westfield, IN.   

Below is a look at five of the day's top performers.

Listed Alphabetically 

Cade Fitzpatrick, C/3B/RHP, Franklin Central HS

Physical frame at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds. Produced a showcase best 2.04 pop time, sitting in the 2.04-2.08 range.  Possesses arm strength with carry on his throws at 79 from the crouch.  Stance is relaxed,   Defensively at 3B showcased average hands with a clean exchange.  Footwork is flat, plays through the baseball.  Short, ¾ arm action across the field at 82.  Offensively, the RHH hits from an open, crouch type setup.  Hands start and stay low producing an uphill swing path.  Bat speed is quick and shows strength.  High exit velocity of 88.  On the mound pitches from a clean, high ¾ arm action with above average arm speed.  Inward turn, smooth rhythm in the delivery.  Fastball is heavy, often left up in the zone at 81-83.  Breaking ball is in the developmental stage at 60-64; lacks identity.  Tendency to slow his arm down on the changeup.  CH sat 74-77 flashing arm side run and kept in the zone.
