New Jersey Players of the Week: 2019s Jake Andrey and Danny Wilkinson

TJ Hunt
Director, PBR New Jersey

Fighting off poor weather so far this spring has been a difficult task, but these two players stood out with their individual performances from the week that was:

The first Co-Player of the week we highlighted was Villanova recruit 2019 LHP Danny Wilkinson (Scotch Plains-Fanwood HS, NJ). In an extra inning affair, Wilkinson stuck out 20 batters (not a typo) in 7 2/3 innings in a 1-0 win over Union. Wilkinson now has 39 strikeouts in 21 IP so far this season. Congratulations, Danny!

The second Co-Player of the Week is out of South Jersey with uncommitted 2019 RHP/Ut. Jake Andrey (The Kings Christian School, NJ). In four games last week, Andrey was 13-16 with 8 RBI, 9 R, 2 SB, HR, 3B, and a 2B. Andrey also threw a two-hit shutout over 6 IP with 6 K against New Foundations who was 5-0 and had scored 71 runs going into the game. Andrey is leading N.J. with 23 total hits over the first 9 games of the season.

Congratulations to Both Jake and Danny for a job well done last week.

Coaches, remember to submit your nominees for Player of the Week by Monday morning at 10am to [email protected].
