Around the Horn:

Is a breakdown of 8 position players and 1 pitcher who stood out this spring and summer. It is a list of recruitable 2024's and 2025's. Let's throw the ball around the horn and see what each player is made of!

CATCHER:

2024 Jake Howlett, Wall High School

+ The 6'0-192-pound backstop had a historic junior campaign. Showing off innate ability to hit for both power and avg. He turned in a .427 average, 8 home runs, 7 doubles, while driving in 32 runs. Strong barrel. Creates easy PS carry. Was a '22 future gamer. 

 


PITCHER:

2025 LHP Luke Wood, Pennsville High School

+ The 6'0-160-pound southpaw is a two-time future gamer. Lots of moxie and competitiveness on the mound. The FB has been up to 87/88 but for the most part Wood is in the 83-86 range with a clean fluid H 3/4 slot. His CB/SL is anywhere from 73-78, backdoor traits with quality shape 10/4 break. The CH is heavy and its 75-79. This high school season he managed to maintain a 2.48 era, picking up 55 K through 42 IP. 

 

 

 

FIRST BASE:

2024 Eric Cha, Old Tappan High School

+ The physical 6'4-215 pound first basemen means business in the batter's box. Strong box presence with simple approach. He hit .415 with 3 home runs this HS season. Also has a projectable arm turning in velos into the high 80's. 

 

 

 

THIRD BASE: 

2024 Yoan Feliz, Vineland High School

+ 6'1-180-pound corner infielder. Strong swing in which he stays very connected. Barrel gets into a solid slot. Loud barrel with high EV. In high school Feliz hit .312 avg, 3 home runs and 8 doubles. Also drove in 21 runs. Middle of the order bat at the next level. 

 

 

 

SHORTSTOP:

2025 Michael Schiermeyer, Franklin High School

+ 6'0-175-pound middle infielder has a speedy wiry frame. Short compact operation at the plate. Produces line drives all over the field. Quality running speed for a middle at 6.8 runner. This high school as a sophomore he batted .333 with 2 home runs. Drove in 18 rbis. Toolsy player with a nice upside. 

 

 

 

SECOND BASE:

2025 Ethan Tolbert, Moorestown High School

+ 5'9-155-pound middle infielder is a recent de-co from Penn State University. The LHH has a quality skillset. Short swing with quick actions on defense. Tons of room to fill out, plays the game with a lot of confidence.  This high school season Tolbert hit.339 with 1 home run, 2 triples and 7 stolen bases. 

 

 

 

OUTFIELD:

2025 Bennett Siegel, West Windsor South High School

+ 6'1-190-pound LHH was a '23 future gamer. Siegel did more than show up, he really played well. Barreling up everything. Velocity was not an issue. Even at the NJ state games, Siegel found barrel. Has innate ability to square it up. Power potential at the next level. This high school season he hit .269 avg, 2 home runs with 18 rbis. 

 

 

 

2025 Chase Kroberger, Moorestown High School

+ 6'0-180-pound outfielder. Has all the tools. The speed is 6.6 paired with a very strong arm at 89 mph. The barrel is short to long through, tremendous oppo gap power. Game changer qualities at the next level. In high school Kroberger hit .458 avg, 7 triples, 15 stolen bases. He was a '23 future game selection. 

 

 

 

2024 Matthew Brunner, Red Bank Catholic High School

+ 6'0-170-pound speedy outfielder has plus range in CF. Tracks well and has an accurate arm. Lean frame that projects. Simple approach with leverage to the pull side. This high school season Brunner hit .319 with 5 doubles and an astounding 28 rbis.
