Emerald Ridge vs Sumner (4.3.24)

Emerald Ridge

'24 RHP Nick Fazio, Washington State Commit
Turned in a solid performance, shutting down Sumner offense. Large, stocky frame with polished movements down mound. Lower hand break to high 3/4 slot release. Repeatable finish with momentum carried 1B side. FB/SL/CH mix, filled up zone and worked quickly. Final line: 7 IP, 2 H, R (0 ER), BB, 2 K.

'24 OF Tanner Solinsky, Centralia College Commit
The athletic-framed senior paced the Emerald Ridge offense, totaling three hits on the day. Slightly open stance, stays in legs through swing. Hands start hovering over rear shoulder, retract toward umpire into load, and extend through contact. Covers ground in center field, making several rangy catches.

'25 3B Carson Cody, Uncommitted
Cody stood out in what was a largely quiet day offensively, ringing two loud doubles. Hands stack vertically in stance with rhythm. Longer, whippy barrel path. Hits to all fields and creates leverage at contact. Soft hands and active feet at third base. Uncommitted prospect to watch.

'25 C Hudson Brown, Uncommitted
Intruiging defender behind the dish. Flashed sub-2 second pop times and controlled the run game throughout. Excellent blocker moving laterally. Frames consistently with minimal wasted movement, working up through the ball. Quiet day offensively but potential in the RH bat.

Sumner

'26 RHP/SS Xander Cypher, Uncommitted
Cypher turned in an impressive day on the mound, keeping the ER offense in check. Featured a FB with ride and two distinct breaking balls. Compact, high 3/4 arm slot with repeatable finish. Room to grow in frame. Final line: 5 IP, 6 H, R, 2 BB, K. Underclassman two-way player to watch.

'24 3B Walker Nixon, Uncommitted
Nixon had one of two hits for Sumner and showcased a solid all-around game. Quiet stance and load from the LH side with a direct barrel path. Line drive approach with ability to hit ball where it's pitched. Makes the routine play at 3B. Important piece for Sumner this season.

'26 SS Drew Wicklander, Uncommitted
Despite a quiet day overall, Wicklander's tools remained present across the diamond. Taller, athletic frame. Showcased range at SS and made several key defensive plays. Repeatable swing from RH side. Narrow base widens at load. Bend in levers with leverage created at point of contact. Projectable middle infield frame.

Tahoma vs Bonney Lake (4.5.24)

Tahoma

'24 RHP Jackson Walker, Yakima Valley Commit
Walker was dominant on the mound for the Bears, racking up 13 K in just 5 IP. Athletic build with repeatable delivery on the mound. Attacked with the FB, also mixed in CH and SL. Hands set at belt in full wind. 3/4 arm slot release with controlled, tucked gloveside follow. Plays with an edge, leader on the diamond. Important piece for Tahoma this season.

'25 RHP Bryson Leach, Gonzaga Commit
Lean-framed RH arm impressed on Friday, working around traffic and making big pitches when needed. FB heavy with a sharp slider mixed in. Set at belt, controlled leg lift with late intent through release. High 3/4 slot. Plus extension down mound. Maintains consistent armspeed in offspeed deliveries. Finished with 6 K in 3 IP.

'25 OF Nate Kimmel, Uncommitted
Bat that has continued to impress through Spring. Consistently finds barrels, primarily pull power. Strong frame, stays in legs through swing. Starts in open, relaxed stance. Loose hands stacked vertically with short hand path to contact. Extends through contact with a long one-handed finish. Makes routine play in OF, can stick in a corner. An uncommitted bat to watch moving forward.

'27 INF Trey Davies, Uncommitted
Showing some intruiging tools for a freshman, Davies made an impact in multiple ways on Friday. Lean bodied athlete. Active feet and quick transfer in middle infield. Advanced approach at the plate, mostly line drive hit tool. Quiet setup with weight balanced evenly pre-pitch. Short stride and short to contact. Room to grow into frame, potential to make a real impact in years to come.

Bonney Lake

'27 OF Ryan Cannady, Uncommitted
One of the top ranked freshman in the state, Cannady looked the part of an advanced underclassman. Tall, lean frame with some present strength. Upright stance with barrel rested on rear shoulder. Larger leg kick widens and lowers base. Loopy LH swing path. Showed adjustability to different pitches, can hit with authority to all fields. Smooth mover in OF, quick first step and makes proper reads. A projectable player that can have a big impact.

'24 RHP Gavin Thunstrom, Pierce College Commit
Tall RH showed an experienced approach on the mound, keeping hitters off balance throughout the afternoon. Frequently mixed in a CB/SL in all counts with a true 4 seam fastball. Hands raise in sync with high leg lift, break at letters. Over the top delivery with short arm path. Works downhill through finish. Key arm for BL this season.

'26 1B/C Evan Hellner, Uncommitted
Strong framed athlete with versatile skillset. Loose LH swing with pull power. Hands in rhythm pre-pitch with upright stance. High back elbow into load with longer bat path. Bend in levers through swing. Controlled finish. Makes routine plays at 1B with quick transfer to throw. Should be a key piece for the next three seasons.
