Commitment Spotlight: 2024 Cole Connor

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

With the summer coming to an end and the fall near, colleges across the country have started to zero in on targeted prospects in the 2024 and 2025 high school classes.  Today, we shine a light on a prospect that we've followed and seen quite closely, over the past 12 months, in University High Senior Cole Connor.  Cole started his PBR journey at our State Games in the fall of 2021, and the 6'1" 175 lbs. RHP/OF showed improvements at each step along the way.  He hit a personal best max fastball velocity (90 mph) at our Top Prospect Games this past June.  Connor's recruiting journey came to an end yesterday, as he officially announced that he will be continuing his athletic and academic career at Army.  Below, we ask Cole what led him to his commitment to the Black Knights, who helped him get to this point in his career, and what high school baseball fans can expect out of the U-High Cubs this coming spring.  Congratulations again to Cole on his commitment to Army!

-Congratulations on your commitment to Army!  What led you to commit to the Black Knights?

I took a visit recently and fell in love with the facilities and first-class education.  I also wanted to serve our great country!

-We know that you've had a tremendous support system coming up as a player.  Who would you like to thank for helping you get to this point in your journey?

I would not be where I am today without the support of my parents.  They have helped me in more ways than they know.  I also want to thank all of the coaches that I've had along the way for believing in me and helping me get to where I am today as a player and as a person.

-What are some things about your game that Army Baseball fans can expect from you as a player when you arrive on campus?

Fans can expect me to be a blue-collar, hard-working player that will always put the team first.

-You have just started your senior year at University High in Baton Rouge, LA.  What can high school baseball fans in Louisiana expect out of the Cubs this coming spring?

We have a lot of talent returning this season, which is going to make for an exciting year.  Our goal is to take each day, one day at a time, with the ultimate goal in mind of bringing a state title to U-High!
