The Maryland Insider covers a wide variety of information on players in the state. We will cover events, players to watch, rankings, best in class, and many more topics that will cover the many levels of high school baseball.

PBR Maryland reached out to every high school coach in the state to find out about seniors that have fallen through the cracks and remain uncommitted. We have compiled that list of players and added short comments on what their coaches had to say.

Aaron Barclay, 3B/C, Spalding
Barclay is an athletic corner infielder with a good set-up at the plate and is fundamentally sound defensively. One of the best soccer players in the area, he hasn’t had the opportunity to participate in summer ball as much as other players.

Colby Byers, C, Williamsport
Byers has been named to the MSABC 2015 Preseason all-state team. He played for the Mid-Atlantic Red Sox showcase team last summer and fall. He has a simple and load from the left side of the plate.

T.C. Conrad, OF, Paint Branch
Conrad struggled some in 2014 after having a breakout season as a sophomore. He hit .356 that year and was a first-team 4A South player. Last season he hit .251. Coach Thomas Rey on Conrad:
“T.C. runs a 6.5 60. He tracks the ball very well and is a menace on the bases. He is one of the toughest outs in the leadoff position.”

Tyler Crounse, OF, Patuxent
Crounse made the preseason all-state team and is the starting quarterback for Patuxent. He was the Calvert County player of the year and has been a SMAC all-star performer since his sophomore year. Patuxent Coach Keith Powell: “I feel that he is slipping through the cracks and should be getting (Division I) looks.”

Kenny Daniels, RHP, North Hagerstown
Coach Andrew Crawford: “Kenny has good command and masks limited velocity (76-78). (He has) good secondary stuff, featuring a sharp slider and overhand curveball. Knows how to get guys out, nothing jumps off the page but (he) competes and is a bulldog. Getting much stronger and more athletic in the offseason should lead to an increase in velocity.” Daniels is currently talking with some Division III programs but has yet to make a decision.

Aidan Fowler, RHP/UTL, Annapolis
Fowler is one of the few seniors on the Annapolis baseball team. As mentioned in our season preview, Fowler will head up the rotation for the Panthers this season. He will also be the No. 3 hitter in the lineup and is a National Honor Society member.

Tyler George, RHP, Saint James
George played summer ball in the Mid-Atlantic Red Sox organization. A three-sport athlete (football and wrestling), George was instrumental in Saint James’ IPSL championship run, throwing complete game one-hitters on back-to-back Saturdays in 2014.

Colson Kirchner, RHP, Middletown
Kirchner has pitched 110 innings for Middletown and should go down as one of the top pitchers in Middletown history. He is undecided on his future but has received some interest from multiple Division I and Junior College programs.

Stay tuned tomorrow as we finish up the list of unsigned seniors.
