PBR Scout Days allow players to update their PBR profile page with updated and verified statistics, a full evaluation, and video.  The evaluations are performed by PBR staff members with a history of college and professional scouting.  All of the information will be hosted on the PBR platform, connecting players to over 800 colleges and universities, and every MLB team.

5 Star Baseball - Pitchers

Trey Carter OF / Magna Vista, VA / 2019

Impressive build with length and strength in the body.  Ran a 7.10 sixty that may improve quickly as the long strider produces some power in his lower half.  Good carry from the right handed thrower, peaking at 84 mph from the outfield.  Long arm swing to a high-¾ slot.  Quick arm produced carry and some accuracy.  Fluid and clean through the baseball, plays athletic.  Working to become a switch-hitter, the right handed swing is more advanced at this time.  From the right side, loads back and shows a quick bat as he rotates on the backside.  Lots of pull side contact with an uphill path.  Exit velocity peaked at 89 mph off the barrel, and may improve with an increased barrel percentage.  The left side is a work in progress, working tall and loading to a wrapped position with the barrel.  Lacks feel for the bat path or barrel from the left side.

Cody Cato OF / SS / Hilltop Christian School, NC / 2020

Young frame at 5-foot-10, 146 pounds.  Showed some quickness in the body, running a 7.13 sixty.  Arm speed measured at 74mph from the outfield.  Short arm stroke works to a high-¾ slot with some accuracy, lacking carry.  Tentative through the exchange working to load the feet and arm.  Right handed hitter works from a crouch, loading down and in with the hands.  Short stride works to a rotational base, sitting on the back side with a level, gap-to-gap approach.  Exit velocity topped at 74 off the barrel.

Ty Choplin RHP / OF / Westchester Country Day School, NC / 2019

Aggressive right handed hitter.  Begins tall and open, loading down and in with the hands and working with average barrel awareness.  Leg kick gives in to a long stride and good weight shift.  Uphill leverage leans to the pull side with most swings.  Exit velocity peaked at 78mph.  From the outfield, flashed some arm strength, measured at 83mph from a long, loose arm swing to an over-the-top slot.  Feet and front side can clear the line early, with some head lean through release.  Average carry and accuracy.  Average build at 6-foot-1, 177 pounds, ran a 7.42 sixty.

RJ Coard OF / 2B / Hickory Ridge, NC / 2018

Strong, mature, athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 178 pounds.  Muscular build.  Ran a 6.61 sixty.  Simple and loose, left handed hitter works from a balanced, athletic set with a short stride.  Average bat speed works gap-to-gap.  Backside not always involved in the swing, leading to some weak contact for the strength level.  Exit velocity topped at 78 off the bat.  Defensively, showed range and the ability to recover.  First step can improve.  Stiff arm action, from the right handed thrower, working to an over-the-top slot with some accuracy.  Elbow works above the shoulder line in the arm swing and there is a fight to find rhythm from the transfer to the release.

Shemar Dalton OF / SS / South Stokes, NC / 2020

Lanky, lean athlete at 5-foot-10, 160 pounds.  Frame can handle plenty of strength.   Ran a 7.13 sixty.  Strong arm action with a long swing to an over-the-top slot, displaying some carry at 79 mph.  Works soft and fluid through the baseball with clean easy exchanges.   Athletic, playing through balls with ease.   Left handed hitter, starts closed and uses a short stride, remaining slightly closed through the shoulders at foot strike.  Better than average bat speed comes from a ‘C’ load in the hands to trigger the swing.  Works for extension, wanting to stay gap-to-gap.  Lacks some rhythm, hurting barrel awareness at times.  As strength is added, swing should play up.  Exit velocity peaked at 78 mph off the barrel.

Dawson Edwards OF / 3B / Randleman, NC / 2020

Some quick twitch in the young 5-foot-9, 145 pounder.  Ran a 7.11 sixty.  Simple approach and setup from the right handed hitter.  Balanced with just a little rhythm in the hands to start the swing.  Short stride works to a level swing, staying gap-to-gap.  Lacks overall rhythm and timing mechanism in the swing, leading to the bat head dragging at times.  Exit velocity topped at 78 mph.  Defensively, arm speed measured at 74 mph from an over-the-top slot with some shoulder restriction in the arm swing.

Elijah Knight OF / OF / R.J. Reynolds, NC / 2019

Lanky 5-foot-10, 150 pound right handed hitter.  Balanced and working with a flat barrel in the setup.  Leg kick loads the weight and foot strike is short, almost back in the starting position.  Shows barrel awareness, working level and producing line drives, staying in the middle of the field.  Exit velocity, off the barrel peaked at 78 mph.  Has some quickness running a 7.27 sixty.  Effort in the arm, with a long arm stroke to an over-the-top slot, showing some accuracy and average carry, measured at 73 mph out of the hand.  Tends to field the ball deep, working to play through it, with awkwards transfers.

Mason Stickney OF / RHP / Parkwood, NC / 2018

Raw athlete with quickness and strength in a 6-foot-2, 190 pound frame.  Room to continue to fill out the body.  Levers appear to have length.  Exit velocity up to 94 mph off the barrel with a quick bat through the zone.  Ran a 6.92 sixty.  Right hander has a tall stance, loads back with a long aggressive stride.  Strength shows off the barrel on the level swing that has a pull tendency.  Front side can get out early as he looks for extension.  Can continue to improve the ability to center the ball.  Defensively, shows arm strength and carry, with a feel for accuracy.  Long arm works to a high-¾ slot.  Exchange can get long as he loads his arm and feet.  Feet can work off line, creating some fade on the ball.

Dalton Williams OF / RHP / North Gaston, NC / 2018

Physical presence in the box from the left side.  Works with an open stance and tall base.   Loads back, using a short stride.  Better than average bat speed, producing an exit velocity that peaked at 91 mph.  Fluid, works for extension, trying to stay in the middle of the field.   Rotational at times, showed good feel for the barrel, working direct and staying on top of the baseball.  Arm showed average carry, with a long arm arc to a high-¾ slot.  Worked with ease, almost not cutting it loose as the arm speed measured 81 mph.  Ran a 7.19 sixty.
