Zach McManus is an uncommitted 2019 right-handed pitcher from Woodstock, GA.  Had a chance to see the late bloomer in action on Friday night against a strong Walton team.  He punched out 12 on his way to earning the win.

McManus has broad shoulders, a thick lower half, and has the feel of a kid who can handle some innings.  Does a solid job of repeating his delivery, but will fly open with his lower half and pull the ball glove side at times. His fastball (86-88) topped out at 91, and offers late hand-side life that proved to be too much for hitters in this outing.  Was able to pitch off his fastball effectively the entire game. His curveball (71-74) is big, with good shape and spin. Uses early in counts for strikes, getting hitters to give up on it. Showed feel for landing the pitch all night, while changing hitters eye level with effect.

He has an interesting story in terms of his NCAA eligibility.  He is set to graduate in 2018 with his original classmates at Woodstock, but he has reclassified himself with the NCAA as a 2019 due to his young age (he will not turn 18 until August).  So, technically, he is eligible for the MLB draft but is a 2019 uncommitted prospect for NCAA programs.
