With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals

2017 Record: 17-10
Conference Record: Principals’ Athletic Conference, 9-5, 3rd Place
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/2

2018 Team Strengths:

  • Defense
  • Starting Pitching

  • Leadership

Coach Outlook: "I believe we will once again battle for a conference championship. We return 2 of our top 3 pitchers and believe some of our younger guys have made some big strides in the off season to fill in spots that we lost to graduation. Heavily recruited, senior, Drew Wilson will be our catalyst both on the mound and at the plate. We will once again look to be aggressive on the bases taking advantage of our team speed. We will also continue to take pride in our defense minimizing errors and maintaining a very high fielding percentage once again this season. Lastly, and most importantly we will continue to play for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."

PBR Outlook: Coach Jason Herblet and the Royals are looking to battle for a conference title and should do so with the return of two of their top arms from a year ago.
