Another week brings us an updated Power 25. A series of upsets took place this week as numerous teams that were ranked  were beaten by unranked opponents. The Top 5 remains the same as James Madison, Hanover, Greenbrier Christian, and Liberty Christian won all of their games and remained unbeaten by opponents in Virginia. Atlantic Shores suffered its first loss on Saturday, falling in ten innings to No. 16 Nansemond Suffolk.

Battlefield, Lafayette, Glen Allen, and Paul VI Catholic also had perfect weeks and all slid up. Rounding out the Top Ten is Grassfield, which lost on Thursday in a non-conference matchup to No. 25 Jamestown.

Western Branch lost to a good Indian River squad, last week and fell out of the Top 10. Jefferson Forest and Hickory continued their climb up the Power 25 with perfect weeks. St. John’s picked up a big WCAC win over Bishop O’Connell in the process of sweeping its week.

Nansemond Suffolk did suffer a loss to Norfolk Academy last week, but moves up a few spots with the win over Atlantic Shores. Kettle Run and George C. Marshall continued their dominance of their conferences, sweeping their weeks. First Colonial and Prince George moved into the Top 20 as both teams remain undefeated.

Briar Woods had a big pair of wins this week as Conference 14 play got started, defeating Potomac Falls and defending 5A State Champion Stone Bridge. C.D. Hylton dropped a few spots after being beaten soundly by a veteran Potomac squad on Tuesday that also beat 6A opponent Patriot on Wednesday.

Moving into the rankings this week is the Highland School, which has already clinched its conference championship and is poised to make a deep run in the VISAA II tournament. Also new to the rankings this week is Jamestown, which picked up the big win over Grassfield and has also beaten Hickory this spring.
