Ventura, Calif. - As the entirety of the of the California High School sections are fully underway including the Northern sections all playing games Prep Baseball California will be highlighting a weekly game of the week.

This weeks match up from NorCal Central Section Game of the Week features an early season 1 vs. 2 South Yosemite-River League matchup between the Frontier Titans taking on the Liberty Patriots. Both teams enter the matchup undefeated in league play.

Game Preview:  Both programs are off to strong overall starts coming in with 13-3 and 12-3 records while both stand undefeated in South Yosemite-River League play. Both teams feature dynamic offenses with Liberty averaging 6.7 runs per game while Frontier averages 5.8 runs per game and lean on stellar pitching staffs with Liberty having allowed just 39 runs in 15 games and Frontier has allowed just 47 runs in 16 games. Liberty has a powerful offense averaging over 1 HR per game with Voss' team leading 6 HRs being followed up by Thompson's 4 HR, the Patriots have 3 regulars hitting over .300 with Thompson leading the way at .404 with Goodwin at .326 and Martin at .308. SR. starter Eric Churchman fronts the Patriots rotation with 40.2 innings pitched and an eye opening 1.25 ERA with a 5-1 overall record. The Titans counter with 3 starters of their own hitting over .300 including JR.  Logan Judd sitting at .405 with 3 HRs while SR. Casen Bradford coming at .362 with 11 RBI's. JR. workhorse RHP Brady Durkan has thrown 46 innings so far this spring collecting 7 wins with 55 punchouts and a miniscule .91 ERA. Both lineups will be tested in the early week matchup as they are likely to face the ace from their opponents staff. The winner will put themselves in the drivers seat for a league title with 2 more matchups between these programs to come in late April and early May.
