TEXAS- Our boots-on-the-ground scouting staff is constantly on the road evaluating talent throughout the entire year, from the high school season, travel ball in the summer, fall league games, or PBR events, we aim to be your number one source for amateur baseball scouting news. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in Texas.

As players mature and develop at different rates, there are a number of factors to evaluate, from current skill levels, strength and speed, to long-term projectablity and athleticism. While players are constantly improving and making jumps in development, strength and skill set. The modest list of 50 is sure to grow over the next four years with new players emerging and others making big jumps, and through it all, PBR stands committed to being the most up-to-date and credible source for amateur baseball news. For more information on the recruiting process, take a look at Recruiting Essentials

Locking up the No. 1 spot is LHP Jakob Schulz (Memorial) Texas’ top-ranked player, already showcases impressive command of a mid-80s fastball (up to 87 in June) to both sides of the plate, along with a big-bending curveball that takes 1/7 shape with tight spin in the mid 70s (2360 rpm). With a durable, 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with lean, proportional strength, Schulz shows signs of making another big jump in the future.

At No. 2 is OF/LHP Brayden Sharp (Woodlands) arguably one of the top 2023 prospects in the state. Highly projectable frame at 6-foot-1, 150-pounds, that will continue to fill out physically. On the mound, he sat 81-83 with an athletic tempo and a long arm path with a loose arm. Flashed a CH at 76 with some late fade, as well as a CB at 67 mph with tight spin and late depth.  Sharp is an athlete with a high ceiling as a baseball player and will continue to make jumps as he matures both on the mound and as a position player.

No. 3 is OF Derrick Mitchell (Prestonwood) a recent move in to the state from Arizona who will be attending Prestonwood Christian Academy. Ultra athletic frame at 6-foot-3, 195-pounds, super projectable switch-hitter with easy power in bat. Displays natural athleticism in the outfield with a combo of speed, and arm strength that are an exciting collection of tools.
