2017 TEAM PREVIEW: Angola Hornets

Class: 3A
2016 Record: 19-9
Conference (2016 Record):  NECC - Tied 1st
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/3

2017 Team Strengths:

Top Returning Players:

• Jake Honer, OF, 2017: .316BA 16SB
• Tyler Sonner, INF, 2018: .256BA
• Chance Roddy, INF/P, 2018: 45IP 1.09ERA
• Aaron Chao, LHP/1B, 2019: 25IP

Outlook:  The Hornets come off a 19-9 season while finishing tied for 1st in the NECC. Coach Roddy graduated 6 seniors which he will have to replace with some young talent. Senior Jake Honer looks to be an anchor in the lineup again this spring. Chance Roddy and Aaron Chao are two of the top returning pitchers for Angola.  Coach Roddy expects the young guys to step up and play their roles well by the end of the regular season.
