TUESDAY, MARCH 26TH

+ LHP Jackson Clark (2025, Brandon) probably would like to have a few pitches back from last night but his stuff is next level. The East Central CC recruit uses a fastball that gets very good arm side run especially when he locates away from right handed hitters. His fastball works mainly in the 82-84 mph range though he did touch 86 last night and could eventually add a little more with some fine tuning and continued development of his body. His breaking ball may have been the most impressive, primarily when he threw it to this glove side as the action seemed a little sharper with more depth. He should be a big contributor on the mound for the Bulldogs as they head down the stretch.

+ RHP Jayden Madison (2025, Petal) was impressive to watch last night as we got our first look at the lanky righty in game action. The uncommitted 2025 used a 4 pitch mix that included a fastball that sat in the 82-84 mph range with a high of 86. Madison used two breaking balls with the slider getting plenty of swings and misses just off the plate. His change up was 79-80 and played well off the fastball. He seemed to have very good feel for the change as well, throwing it early in the count on several hitters. Another arm that should get even better as the body continues to mature.

+ C/RHP Tanner Beliveau (2025, Petal) showed off his impressive power last night in a district matchup versus Brandon. The 6-3, 200 pound Mississippi State recruit found a pitch on the outer half, got extended and made solid contact with the barrel, sending the baseball over the right field wall for an opposite field home run. Beliveau added another base hit to right field later before being intentially walked his final two plate appearances. The Panthers will count on both his bat and his arm as district play heats up over the second half of the season.

+ 3B Fischer Howell (2027, Petal) is another young player we saw in game action for the first time. Howell has some size to him at 6-1, 180 pounds and just a freshman. He carries the size well, evident during his run scoring double that got the scoring going for Petal last night in the bottom of the first. Howell got a pitch over the heart of the plate and alllowed his hands to stay inside, found the meat of the barrel and sent it into the right center gap between both outfielders. We feel like this is a young player you may hear a lot more of over the next few seasons.
