2017 TEAM PREVIEW: benton central bison

Conference (2016 Record):  Hoosier Conference - 10th
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/6

2017 Team Strengths:

• Taylor Varnado, 3B/P, 2019: .333BA 3-3 4.53ERA
• Payton Hall, OF, 2019: .309BA
• Matt Taylor, P/1B: .272 15RBI 
• Noah Smith, LHP: 3-1 3.50ERA 

Outlook:  Coach Vernon returns 7 out of 9 starters this spring.  Most of them sophomores and juniors, Coach believes they will have a much more successful season after getting Varsity experience under their belts.  The Bison also have the majority of their innings on the mound returning as well.  Benton Central should compete at a higher level in the Hoosier Conference and the sectional if the players continue to develop.
