2018 RHP Davis Miller (Willow Glen HS-San Jose) has been named this week’s Prep Baseball Report Northern California Player of the Week due to his standout performances in two games this past week, as well as all season, as his Willow Glen HS team locked up the top seed in the Central Coast Section Open Division playoffs.

He earned both a save and a win during the last week, as Willow Glen went 2-0 in league play, capping a 22-5 regular season, including 12-3 league record which earned them a league title. In the first game this past week he was 2-for-3 at the plate, with a run and RBI, as well as a HBP. He closed out a wild win with a two inning save. Later in the week vs Leland HS, Miller threw his sixth complete game of the season, a 3-1 win, as he scattered 8 hits, giving up only one run (earned), while striking out three and walking no one. At the plate he was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Miller (an uncommitted senior) had a tremendous overall season as a two-way player for the Rams. His strongest position beyond the high school level is pitcher and his stats back it up, as he went 9-1 in 73.1 IP, giving up 63 hits, striking out 58 and walking only 9 batters all season. He started 11 games, pitched in 14 overall, threw three shutouts, six complete games, had two saves and threw a no-hitter. At the plate Miller wasn't too shabby either, with a .351 average, 21 RBI, 14 runs scored, 7 doubles, a homer, while walking 12 times, getting hit by a pitch 6 times and punching out a scant 4 times all season.

For his efforts, Davis Miller has been named the Prep Baseball Report NorCal Player of the Week for the week of May 7-13 and Prep Baseball Report congratulates him for his hard work and contributions to the Jesuit Marauders.
