Hunter Martin
TN Scouting Director

The 2024 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at The Spring Fling as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Volunteer State.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Power 25 and much more.

*Please note the information has been gathered from head coaches across the state, based on their replies to the questionnaire we distributed over this offseason.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Riverside is coming into the spring on the heels of back to back state tournament appearances for a program that is deeply rich in baseball history in the state. Getting to Murfreesboro in May 8 out of the last 15 years, once again the Panthers have their eyes set on a deep run into the postseason. Going 19-19-1 from a season ago, the club had blowout wins and multiple games scoring 10+ runs. Team captains Ethan Quinn and Jake Swindle have graduated, but they return a deep constructed roster of 5 positional starters. Led by do it all senior Stone Wallace who will bat leadoff, start shortstop and will take over the #1 role on the mound. Another team leader will be 3 year starter Aiden Creasey, who takes over the #2 spot on the hill and will man centerfield when not pitching. Rounding out their 3 man rotation will be junior right hander Peyton Kirk, who has a low to mid 80’s fastball and will man left field. 6 foot 5 prospect Camden Eason will man the RF spot, while underclassman Jace England and Cody Brasher will man the corner infield spots. This year’s club will have strong leadership from the senior class with work ethic and a willingness to push each other to be their very best. Look for the Panthers to once again be top 2 in their district with their eyes and capabilities on making a deep postseason run to the state tournament.
