2016 Player Spotlight: Janzen Bloom, Seymour HS

Today's 2016 Player Spotlight is on Seymour's Janzen Bloom, a 6-foot-2, 225 pound right handed power pitcher with a heavy 85 mph fastball.  Bloom attended this year's Preseason All State Showcase back in February and quickly established himself as one of the top pitching prospects in his class.

At the Preseason All State event he showcased a fastball that consistently sat 85 mph.  Bloom has an advanced frame for his age with a wide base. For a freshman he showcased the ability to spin the breaking ball well.  As he continues to mature he projects to be a high-end power pitcher.

Bloom was injured most of the year, however did come back later in the summer and still showed good velocity with his fastball at 85 mph.

At the Preseason All State event we only saw him pitch, however, we’ve had many reports that he can handle the bat well and projects to hit in the middle of Seymour’s lineup next spring.
