PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Bergstrom: I chose William Penn because of the academic programs and coaching staff. They made me feel like part of the team right away.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Bergstrom: RCTC here in Rochester. Coach Hucke coached me in fall league, and he is an amazing coach.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with him?

Bergstrom: Coach Rabedeaux (recruiting Coordinator) saw me on PBR, he immediately took an interest in my baseball skills as well as my personal life. By establishing this relationship early on, it helped me to realize that he’s a coach that develops not only baseball players but also Men.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Bergstrom: Yes, but my worries about choosing a school have been replaced by the excitement to do well not only in baseball but academically.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Bergstrom: Yes, the small school and town combined with the coaches is what I feel will help me succeed. I’m from a school where there’s lots going on and the smaller feel I think will be good for me.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Bergstrom: I would have to say my Dad, my dad used to bring me out to an elementary school every day for at least an hour and throw to me. He taught me everything I know, and still continues to help me in training.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Bergstrom: I didn’t know what to expect but it turned out good. I think it was nerve wracking but easier than people make it out to be.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Bergstrom: I am probably going to be a dual player, but that is still to be decided.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Bergstrom: Hitting in the Legion homerun derby in 2017 at CHS field.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Bergstrom: I don’t think I could tell you, there has been a lot of talented players I’ve faced. The best player I’ve had a chance to meet is Zach Smith a JM graduate that I played with in 2017.
