Q and A witn 2013 Xavier Commit: Jason Hall (Dublin Coffman HS)

Jason Hall, RHP, Dublin Coffman HS, Class of 2013

PBR: Why did you choose Xavier?

Hall: I chose Xavier because I like the coaching staff and I get to have a chance to compete for innings as soon as I get there.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Hall: Miami OH and Morehead State

PBR: Where did the Xaiver coaches first see you?  How did your relationship develop throughout the recruiting process?

Hall: Xavier first saw me at the Buckeye Scout showcase and they kept in contact throughout the summer and fall. The relationship between me and the coaches grew when they showed up to most of my fall ball games which made me feel comfortable that they were interested in me to come to their school.

PBR: Your brother is a current Musketeer baseball player.  How much of a role did he play in your final decision?

Hall: He definitely was a role because I could trust his opinion on the situation at Xavier and I knew that he really enjoys it there so it helped me decide that Xavier was the right fit.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Hall: They expect me to work into the pitching staff and use me where they think is best. I plan on improving from day 1 so I can gain their trust and throw a lot of innings my first year.

PBR:  What team do you play for in the summer and what has been your most memorable experience?

Hall: I played for my high school's legion team. The best memory of the summer was winning the Grove City tournament and building team chemistry that we can build on to have a successful season next year.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Hall: My dad has had the biggest impact because he has been my coach since I picked up baseball and has taught me a lot about the game and has made me into the player I am today.

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio?

Hall: They toughest hitter I've face is Chris Ramsey. Since 9-year-old travel all the way to high school, he seems to always find a way to do well against me.
