The Uncommitted Spotlight Series continues as we have started the '24 CIF High School baseball season Prep Baseball California is now highlighting some of the top uncommitted class of '25 athletes. The players featured are pulled directly from our '25 Class Rankings. These JR year players are ones that college coaches and fans should be keeping their eyes on over the coming months.

We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts and the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on a SoCal '25 C/1B James Dell'Amico from Loyola High School. Dell'Amico stands an imposing 6'3 215 lbs and shows the actions behind the plate to stay there long term, but with an impressive bat which has shown well for our Prep Baseball California staff he can project as a power hitting 1B and for good measure he has potential as a leverage reliever (did not throw in our showcase event). With an aggressive RH swing which shows torque in the turn of his lower 1/2 with a rotational acceleration metric up to 25.2 G's while adding solid bat speed at 75.7 MPH with fast hands at 24 MPH the overall swing quality lends itself to an impact potential hitter. When he puts his swing into action Dell'Amico showed solid raw power at the Prep Baseball California Future Games Tryout in 2023 with a max exit velocity at 93.2 MPH while averaging 89 MPH with a max distance of 369' feet which all play in game as our staff has tracked his progress since the event and James shows the ability to hit with impact in game. The arm works behind the plate with arm strength at 83 MPH while showing a 2.03 pop time with some cleaning up of his transfer/footwork Dell'Amico has the ability to be a sub 2.0 thrower. Feet and glove are solid at 1B which is another potential future home for him. College programs who are looking for impact bats in the '25 class would be well served to add Dell'Amico's name to their board and keep tabs on this physical RH hitter who could add solid defense at a premium position for them in addition to his offensive abilities.

College coaches and fans be sure to click on Dell'Amico's profile to see full video and statistics.
