A Look Back: Preseason Prospect ID: Uncommitted 2019's

The Preseason Prospect I.D. took place on Sunday January 28th 2018, at Smith-Wills in Jackson, MS. The open event saw seventy-five players from all across Mississippi perform in front of several college coaches and the PBR Scouting Staff.

Today we look back and explore several uncommitted 2019's that participated in the Preseason Prospect I.D.

Tristan Tigrett 3B / 2B / Brandon, MS / 2019

Medium 6-foot, 195-pound frame. The right-handed hitter starts from a tall, slightly open, grounded stance. Simple load closed using a subtle toe tap and balanced throughout. path with big, strong swing and uphill finish that produced an exit velocity of 73 mph. Defender does a nice job of funneling the ball to the midline of his body as he shuffles his feet to create linear momentum towards target. Works into a long arm swing and high-3/4 release posting a infield velocity of 73 mph.

Ben Harper OF / 2B / Lafayette, MS / 2019

Athletic 5-foot-11, 180-pound frame with lean build. Left-handed hitter that hits from tall, open setup with hands starting low and tight to body. Knee to knee load with balance, short stride and solid use of lower half. Direct path, working slightly uphill through the finish with quick hands and loose finish that produced an exit velocity of 81 mph. Defender with average hands, clean exchanges, and smooth footwork, working through the ball well. Short arm stroke into high-3/4 release that produced a positional velocity of 72 mph. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash.

Nic Scucchi LHP / 1B / Oak Grove , MS / 2019

Long-limb 6-foot-4, 200-pound projectable frame. Left-handed pitcher works from a high-¾ slot with a short, loose arm stroke, and a smooth drop-and-drive delivery. His fastball sat 78-81 mph with slight arm side run. His curveball has depth and 1/7 shape at 66-68 mph. Changeup was thrown with fastball arm speed at 71-72 mph.
