Uncommitted Spotlight: Feichtner Making Strides On The Mound

Gavin Feichtner RHP / 1B / Colonel Crawford, OH / 2020

NORTH ROBINSON - The understanding that Gavin Feichtner has is that Colonel Crawford has never had a Division I college baseball recruit.

“We don’t get any baseball recruits around here,” the two-sport sophomore said. “I would be the first as far as I know. That would be a big accomplishment, knowing you’re the only one from your school that has done it.”

To reach that goal, the 6-4 185-pound right-handed pitcher has been working hard on bettering his mechanics.

“I’ve worked with the pitching coach at Otterbein (John LaCorte) and he has me using my legs more,” Feichtner said of his improvement on the mound. “I’m pushing more toward home plate. Since I’ve done that I’ve had more velocity on my fastball and my offspeed is better.”
