McKinney throws a complete game as Boaz downs Madison Academy 5-1

Senior Judd McKinney was brilliant on the mound for Boaz as he allowed only 2 earned runs in a complete game effort. The Marion Military Institute signee struck out 4 and issued 3 walks on the night. The Mustangs struck first in the bottom of the 3rd inning on a 2 out RBI single from freshman CF Alex Wade. Boaz answered with 4 runs in the 4th off of Madison Academy starter Carson McKinney. The senior left hander went 4 innings, allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out 5 Pirate hitters. Boaz added an insurance run in both the 5th and 6th inning off of junior Jackson Word. The southpaw struck out 3 hitters and both runs allowed were unearned. Sophomore Josh Bingham worked a scoreless 7th inning for the Mustangs.

   For the Pirates, senior Jacob Smith, senior Jaden Hornbuckle, junior Jackson Sarratt, senior Brian Montgomery and junior Alex Hutchens each had a base hit for the Pirates. Montgomery and Hutchens both had RBI's as well. For the Mustangs sophomore Cornelius Miller, senior Trey Dollar and sophomore Avery Seaton each had two hits.
