Uncommitted Spotlight: 2022 IF Chase Ditmar

The 2021 and 2022 class has received the brunt of the recruiting restrictions created by the Covid-19 virus with a higher volume of projectable, uncommitted players heading into their junior than ever before. Nevada is no different with the unusual wealth of talent still available throughout the state and we will now be spotlighting players throughout the Scout Day Season that you can look out for in upcoming PBR events.
2020 Future Games standout, Chase Ditmar, is the top ranked uncommitted player in the 2022 class. The 6-foot-1, 180 pound prospect has two-way potential with a fastball running into the upper 80's, but he projects more as a position player with a high baseball IQ and power potential to both gaps that has begun to shine through in recent months. Ditmar is a gamer type player who always seems to leave the field dirty and has proven himself as a legit prospect throughout his high school career and recently adding the physical element to his game has his metrics improve in key areas, especially at the plate where he posted a 94 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity. Currently, he holds down the hot corner for the Southern Nevada Tribe, but could project as a second baseman that could hit for both average and power. In a normal year, this is a prospect that we would expect to already have his collegiate destination determined by this point, but he still remains on the market and as the dust settles, he should be one of the first 2022's off the board.
