Evaluation: 8/7/16- 6-foot-3, 170-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Lean athletic build with long legs. Simple turn into delivery, short balance point, short arm action on backside, clean and works downhill in front. Fastball was straight, on downhill plane, at 83-85 mph. Tight spin on breaking ball, inconsistent shape, at 72-73 mph with short break. Changeup was usable at 71-73 mph. Square stance, short stride, stiff swing mechanics, mid/away approach, line drive and ground ball contact, 76 mph exit velocity. Sits back on ground balls, fields deep in stance, avg. glove, fields routine, above avg. arm strength for position, 83 mph arm strength.

PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
RATH: Upper Iowa, NIACC, Cornell, Simpson, Central, Luther, Southeastern and Iowa Central.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
RATH: I have gone on 1 visit and have 2 others scheduled.  Hoping to make a few more.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?
RATH: Looking for major that suits me and a good pitching coach.

PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
RATH: We made it to State Baseball for the first time in 32 years for Highland.  I had a good year pitching and batting.

PBR: What are your goals for this year? 
RATH: My goals for this year are to keep getting stronger and gain more control.  I am hoping to find a place I fit into at a school.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
RATH: I also play football, basketball and track.

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
RATH: My ACT was 16-taking it again, and my GPA 3.2.
