WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27th

WESTOSHA CENTRAL VS. RACINE CASE

Brody Schulte, RHP, Westosha Central, 2025
Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 60 in the state. 6-foot-5, 176 pounds, high waist with long levers and plenty of room to fill out. Got the start for the Falcons in their first game of the season. Struckout out five, scattered two hits, one walk and allowed just one earned run over his five innings of work. The long-limbed right-hander cruised with his low-to-mid-80s fastball that topped at 85 mph early on with some heavy arm side life. He showed an impressive feel for a mid-70s breaking ball that he consistently spun in for first pitch strikes and also was able to tunnel it off of his fastball for swings-and-misses out of the zone. Rounding out his three-pitch mix was a changeup that he used sparingly, but did flash some late fade/depth to his arm side. Despite the sub-40 degree and windy day, Schulte still put together an impressive performance and continued to look like a follow arm in the state’s 2025 with considerable projection.

Jacob Haughton, RHP, Racine Case, 2025
Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 29 in the state. 6-foot-2, 210 pounds with strength throughout. Impressed in his complete game efforts, as he allowed two runs on three hits and three walks, while also striking out three. Coming out of a simple and easy delivery, his fastball touched 87 mph early on, and settled in the mid-80s with plenty of life through the zone. While he didn’t go to it much, Haughton flashed a 11/5 breaking ball that played with some late depth. Overall, Haughton is a raw prospect, but his athleticism and upside make him one of the more intriguing uncommitted arms in the state’s junior class.

THURSDAY, MARCH 28TH

ST. THOMAS MORE VS. CATHOLIC MEMORIAL

Sam Mommer, RHP, St. Thomas More, 2024
Wisconsin-Parkside commit, currently ranked No. 67 in the state. The mature 6-foot-1 right-hander showed a dynamic arsenal in his outing getting multiple swings-and-misses in and out of the zone with each pitch. Mommer tossed four innings where he struck out 11 batters while only allowing one hit, one walk, and a run.  A quality athlete on the mound that pitches with some effort yet he is able to repeat his delivery throughout extended outings despite the effort. Mommer has a quick and athletic arm action and pitches out of a higher ¾ slot with all of his pitches. His fastball plays at 86-89 mph T90 and was able to beat hitters in the zone while also getting hitters to chase up and out of the zone. Mommer also showed feel for two different breaking balls that got swings-and-misses in the zone, a slider that he throws in the mid-70s that flashed big sweeping action, and an upper-60s curveball that played with sharp break at times. To round off his arsenal Mommer flashed a changeup to left-handed hitters that played with slight running action. Mommer has a track record of success on the mound with an advanced arsenal that looks to translate right away at the next level.
