Alberta Prospect of the Week - Jackson Clemett

Jackson Clemett OF / LHP / Vauxhall Academy of Baseball, AB / 2021Prospect Update: Listed at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. The 2021 outfielder is in his first full year with Vauxhall Academy and has already made huge strides this fall. Clemett has added strength and size what was already a projectable frame. Smooth swing from the left side, slightly open stance, creates good rhythm during load, uses a toe tap with short stride, hands get extended through the zone, level bat path. Strong lower half, uses legs to create power hitting into a strong front side. 2019 Projection: Clemett is one of the few 2021s on the Jet’s roster for the upcoming season, he should definitely benefit from being around a strong group of seniors every day along with the Vauxhall coaching staff. 2019 will be a big year for the uncommitted Calgary, AB native, he will be challenged at the plate facing quality high school arms. He has the physical tools and approach to have success at the next level and we should see him competing for a spot with Alberta at Canada Games and Tournament 12 as one of the top prospects in his class.
