EMERSON, GEORGIA - Team California's Junior Futures faced Iowa/Nebraska in a delayed contest last night. This game wrapped up pool play with an unfortunate loss.

The Junior Futures had many notable hits but were unable to string a couple together to mount a comeback.

'27 Zion Martinez worked a one-two punch with his FB and SL. Solid arm side run on the fastball tunneled well with the slider and had hitter wiffing for 4 Ks in his first inning, ending the game with 6 through 4 innings.

'27 Braeden Casey knocked a backside triple in the second inning for Team California's first hit.

'27 Jacob Melendez got California on the board in the fourth with a double to the LCF gap, making the score 2-1 at that point.

In the fifth inning, '27 Logan Mull followed up a leadoff walk with a hard groundball through the six hole.

Still in the fifth, '27 Isaiah Camacho knocked in a run with a sac fly.

'27 Aiden Lepisi finished out the game for Team California. He used an extremely effective mix of his curveball and fastball, keeping hitters off balance and out in front.

Team California will play New York in the first game of the winner-go-home silver bracket.
