Game Recaps: Livonia Stevenson and Ann Arbor Huron Split

Game 1
Livonia Stevenson rallied back from 5-0 deficit with a six run third inning, which was highlighted by Mike Kanitra's (1B, 2013) grand slam homerun to defeat Ann Arbor Huron 9-6. Jack Ferguson (LHP, 2015) got the win in relief of Jason Rakowicz (RHP, 2013) with Billy Bonanno (2B/RHP, 2014) pitching the last 1-2/3 innings for the save.

Stevenson centerfielder Josh Deyonker (CF, 2013) had two hits and Cody Coleman (LF/2B, 2013) had a double and two RBI. Douglas Mussio (RHP, 2014) started for Huron and Victor Phillips (RHP, 2013) finished and got th loss.

Huron got two hits from Demetrius Sims (SS, 2013/Bethune Cookman) and David Leipold (C, 2013 - double).

 

Game 2
Ann Arbor Huron took advantage of several errors by Livonia Stevenson to score two runs in the third and five more in the forth to defeat Livonia Stevenson 7-6. In the fifth inning, Dominic DiGiovine delivered a huge three run double.

Senior Bobby Knutilla (RHP, 2013) started and got the win with Bruce Campbell (RHP, 2014) finishing the game and getting the save. Demetrius Sims (SS, 2013/Bethune Cookman) had two hits (double) as did centerfielder Nasheed Bass (CF, 2013).

Stevenson starter Mitch Deacon (RHP, 2014) got the loss; Jack Ferguson (LF/RHP, 2015) had three hits (double, triple) and Mike Kanitra (DH, 2013) had two hits.
