The Appalachian Aces will visit Potomac State College of West Virginia University on Saturday for a 10 inning exhibition game at Golden Park. This will be a homecoming of sorts for Josh Kuykendall, Head Coach of the Aces. He pitched for Potomac State in 2006-2007, helping the Catamounts to a school-record 41 wins in 2006. More recently, he was an assistant coach from 2015 through the 2016 seasons.

"Coach (Doug) Little and Coach (Don) Schafer have built Potomac State into one of the premier JUCO's in the entire country. They have had unprecedented success in their 20+ years together. It was an honor to have the opportunity to learn from them on a daily basis." said Kuykendall

This spring, Coach Little will begin his 22nd year as the Head Baseball Coach. He has guided the Catamounts to 14 out of the last 19 Region 20 Championships, along with four trips to the Division 1 World Series in Grand Junction, CO. Before his time at PSC, Little spent five seasons (95-99), as the Recruiting Coordinator and number one assistant baseball coach at West Virginia University. His recruiting efforts at WVU took shape in the form of three-straight 30 win seasons, including back-to-back BIG EAST Divisional titles in 1996 and 1997. In 2016, He was inducted into the NJCAA Coaches Hall of Fame.

"His resume speaks for itself. To have the success he has had, you can contribute that to his work ethic. He not only brings good players to Keyser, but he develops them. Seeing the program on both ends as a player and a coach, it makes you appreciate everything that he has done." said Kuykendall

This game kicks off a 24 game schedule against college competition for the Appalachian Aces this fall.

"This will be a great experience for all of our guys. Anytime you can play against older competition, it gives you the opportunity to see what you've got. I've been telling our guys, the game is going to move quicker than they are used to. They will be bigger, faster, and stronger than we are. It will also be a good opportunity for our guys to see their facilities and program. I am very excited for all of us." said Kuykendall

First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm at Golden Park.
