Q&A with Northeastern Junior College Commit: Brady Tedesco

By Jeff Markle
Assistant State Director

Prep Baseball Report brought you into the world of Eaton Baseball.  A tradition rich program that produces quality baseball players and young men.  We continue our look at committed players this week by focusing on a few players from Eaton who will take their skills to the next level at the conclusion of the spring season.  Prep Baseball Report recently had a chance to chat with 6-foot-0, 170 pound, Left-handed Pitcher and Outfielder, Brady Tedesco about his commitment to Northeastern Junior College.

PBR: Why did you choose Northeastern J.C.?brady

Tedesco:  NJC is great program. They have a great coaching staff and they are a successful organization.

PBR: Where did Northeastern first see you compete?

Tedesco:  My sophomore year I was pitching against Brush and a few coaches from NJC were there scouting some of my teammates and they said I caught their eye.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play during your first year on campus?

Tedesco:  They know that in Eaton its a dog eat dog world and everyone is always competing to be the number 1 guy. I will be pushing to be a team leader by not only words of encouragement, but by example as well.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help Northeastern?

Tedesco:  I work hard. I try to lead by example and I know what a team has to do to be the best and I will work my tail off to help the team succeed.

PBR:  What advice would you give about the recruiting process?

Tedesco:  Have fun with it. The coaches recruiting you know your potential, so do your thing and be confident, but also be respectful.

PBR:  What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

Tedesco:  Winning state, the spring state title my freshman year was unforgettable. To be the best team in the state and knocking the other great teams in the tournament out was great.

PBR:  What would you say are your best assets both on and off the field that will help your team this year?

Tedesco:  This football season has opened my eyes, when we were unsure about making the playoffs two underclassmen came up to me and said "I wouldn't have come out if you wouldn't have helped me. I wouldn't have been able to make it through another season without your mentorship." That really opened my eyes and showed that I make an impact to the younger guys.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Tedesco:  There have been a number of guys that have helped me through each and every season. From Brandon Koehler my freshman year, Britten Abbott my sophomore year, and Jake Nelson my junior year, but my career has been impacted most by my dad. He's supported me and pushed me through the highs and the lows.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience?

Tedesco:  I always play for the Eaton Reds during the summer, but this past summer I was nominated to play for Team Colorado in early June. It was a true blessing to represent this great state against the other top teams in the nation.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher/hitter you have faced in Colorado?

Tedesco:  Granberg from Holy Family is a great hitter we had to battle each other through 10 pitch at bats. He's a stud.

PBR: What are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?

Tedesco:  I want to make an impact on the younger guys. I want to show them how much fun it is working hard being successful. Most of all I want to help this team return and bring home the state title.
