Daily Roundup: May 22 District Tournament Games

District Tournaments fired up around the state yesterday. Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights.

Scott Co 3, Bryan Station 2
Bryce Fryman and Cooper Robb each went 2-for-3, and Cam Hill doubled and drove in a run in the victory. Jordan Fox pitched a complete game with 16 strikeouts for the win.

Franklin Simpson 8, Russellville 4
Jacob Curtis went 2-for-4 with a triple and RBI, and Kyler Pritchett, Jackson Caudill, and Jordan Jones each had 2 hits in the victory. Zach Sliger picked up the win with 4 scoreless innings of relief and 6 strikeouts without allowing a hit.

Logan Co 13, Todd Co Central 0
Jack Wright went 3-for-3 with a double, HR, and 4 RBI, Dylan Penick doubled and drove in 3 runs, and Nick Wooden went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. DJ Beard pitched a 5-inning no hitter with 8 strikeouts.

Raceland 8, Greenup Co 2
Hunter Parsons went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, Braydon Shore went 2-for-4, and Justin Fairchild drove in 2 runs as Raceland upset Greenup County .Jake Heighton pitched a complete game for the win.

Eastern 5. KCD 4
CJ Kenworthy went 2-for-2 with a double and RBI, Trent Robinson went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, and Kyle Nunn and Chase Peterson each had two hits in the victory. Brendan Koester allowed 2 earned runs over 5 innings with 9 strikeouts for the win.

PRP 4, Fairdale 0
Dylan Carnes homered and drove in 2 runs, and Garrett Schmeltz fired a complete game, one-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts.

South Oldham 12, Trimble Co 0
Will Moriarty went 2-for-2 with a HR and 2 RBI, Tanner Johnson and Josh Karlen each went 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI, and Ethan Hobson added 2 hits. Brennan LaBarbera pitched a 5-inning shutout with 11 strikeouts.

Caldwell Co 10, Dawson Springs 0
Shane Burns went 2-for-3 with 4 RBI, Gabe East went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, Gauge Hendon went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Dylan Gray doubled and drove in 2 runs. Ty Ramey pitched a complete game shutout with 7 strikeouts.

Covington Catholic 4, Holy Cross (Covington) 2
Sean Casteel pitched 5.2 strong innings with 7 strikeouts to lead Covington Catholic to the win.

Paducah Tilghman 5, St. Mary 4
Eric Riffe tripled and drove in a run, and Josh Lang worked 6 innings to pick up the win.

Somerset 9, Casey Co 0
Kross Grundy went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and an RBI, Chance Stayton went 2-for-4 with a double and 4 RBI, Seth Bennett went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, Trae Harmon went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, and Austin Dick doubled and drove in a run. Cody Sturgill pitched a no-hitter on just 53 pitches for the win.

Boyle Co 6, Garrard Co 4
Cameron Walker and Karson Thompson combined to go 6-for-7 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, and Hunter Mason went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Sam Tiller allowed 1 earned run and racked up 10 strikeouts in 6.1 innings for the win.

Rowan Co 12, Menifee Co 0
AJ Hacker went 3-for-3 with a double and 4 RBI, Harlan Carter hit a grand slam, Cory Binion went 2-for-2, and Shane Taylor drove in 2 runs. Five pitchers combined for the Rowan County shutout.

Madisonville North Hopkins 6, Hopkins County Central 2
Jonathan Hogart went 3-for-4 with a double, HR, and 2 RBI, and Cole Lawrence went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI. Justin Hallum pitched a complete game with 7 strikeouts for the win.

University Heights 1, Hopkinsville 0
Noah Thomas went 2-for-3 and drove in the winning run, and Drew McGowan fired 6.2 innings of one-hit baseball with 15 strikeouts to pick up the win.

Collins 4, Shelby Co 3
Zane Baker went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, Robert Sproul went 2-for-3 with a triple and RBI, and Michael Hill went 2-for-3 with a double. Cameron Mattingly went the distance on the mound allowing 3 earned runs with 9 strikeouts.

Oldham Co 11, North Oldham 2
Tyler Morrison went 4-for-5 with 2 doubles and RBI, Gabe Bratetic went 2-for-5 with 3 RBI, Hunter Sears went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, Justin Lowry went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, and Grant Larimore and Brandon Hackworth each had two hits and drove in a run. Morrison also pitched 6 strong innings to record the win.

Rockcastle Co 4, Pulaski Co 2
Hunter Rigsby went 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI, Chayse McClure went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI, and Lucas Jones added 2 hits. Rigsby also picked up the win allowing two runs over 6 innings with 11 strikeouts.

Calloway Co 8, Murray 2
Lofton Pigg homered and drove in 3 runs, Jeremy Darnell went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, and Aaron Dawson went 2-for-2 with a RBI. Tyce Stalls allowed two runs over 6 innings with 9 strikeouts to record the win.

Hazard 13, Leslie Co 3
Andy Baker went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI, Trajon Campbell went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, and Dalton Baker and Kyle Johnson each went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Ryan Smith went the distance on the mound allowing one earned run with 8 strikeouts.

Daviess Co 1, Owensboro Catholic 0
Jack Schneider drove in the winning run, and Garrett Whiteker pitched a three-hit shutout with 9 strikeouts.

Clay Co 2, Jackson Co 0
Jimmy Brown and Colby Howard drove in the game’s only runs, and Austin Dezarn fired a complete game, two-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts.

Marion Co 1, Adair Co 0
Travis Wiser went 2-for-3, and Andrew Spalding fired a two-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts.

Greenwood 12, Warren Central 2
Dell Henk went 3-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI, and Titus Thornhill, Adam Schneller, and Addison Harris each collected two hits in the victory. Tyler Cook pitched 4 strong innings for the win.

Breckinridge Co 9, Hancock Co 1
Jacob Ball went 4-for-4 with a RBI, Josh Perez and Kaeveon Mitchell each had two hits, and Brady Higdon doubled and drove in 3 runs. Devin Hall pitched a complete game with 8 strikeouts.

Corbin 7, Whitley Co 6
Cole Brock homered and drove in 2 runs, Josh Hash doubled twice and drove in 2 runs, and Christian Gosselin went 2-for-3 with a double in the victory, Chase Estep worked 5.1 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts for the win.

Tanner Robins went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles, Noah Irvin went 2-for-2 with a double and 2 RBI, Hunter Armstrong went 2-for-3, and Trevor Allen drove in 3 runs. Mason Hazelwood fired a 5-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Butler Co 3, Trinity (Whitesville) 0
Lake Cameron went 3-for-3 with a double, Caleb Beasley went 2-for-3 with a RBI, and Ty Burden drove in 2 runs. Gage Ward and Blake Graham combined on a two-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts.
