There were many worthy players nominated for this week’s Player of the Week Award. Such is life when you are honoring one player from the entire state. Next week, we will select three players from the nominees and take to twitter to let the fans select the winner as we did last year.

For this week, as we sorted through the nominees, one player kept jumping out in leading his team to three wins for the week.

Greenwood senior center fielder Matt Ross went 7-for-13 with three doubles, one triple, and three RBI. Ross also used his speed to steal four bases while scoring seven runs. He has been a catalyst for the Gators offense in the lead-off spot this spring.

For his performance on the field, Greenwood’s Matt Ross has been selected as this week’s PBR Kentucky Player of the Week.
