Prep Baseball Report Louisiana continues its look at in-state recruiting classes with the Northwestern State Demons. Lane Burroughs and his staff have had an impressively quick rebuild that saw his Demons finish near the top of the 2014 Southland Conference standings, in only his second season. Burroughs and his staff continue to add quality in-state talent with their 2015 recruiting class. With a quality mix of high-ceiling players and polished high school seniors, it will be a fun group to watch moving forward.

Austin Reich, RHP, Brusly HS
A 6-foot-3, 185-pound long, lean and projectable right-hander from St. Francisville, LA. Drop and drive delivery, with effort out of high-3/4 release, and lots of moving parts. Has trouble repeating the delivery because of the complexity, but the delivery creates loads of deception. Velocity has been up and down, but has been 86-88 mph, getting up to 90 on multiple occasions. Still trying to develop a consistent feel for a breaking ball, but has flashed a quality spinning slider that has velocity and depth. Still a fairly raw product, but with changes and consistency added to the delivery to go along with natural maturity, Reich could develop into a premium power arm.

Austin Townsend, 3B, Loyola Prep HS
A 6-foot-3, 200-pound third baseman from Shreveport, LA. Big frame with present strength, athleticism, and room to get stronger. Advanced defender with quality feet and hands that work together well, arm strength with carry on throws, and an advanced understanding of how to play infield. Left-handed hitter with smooth stroke, strength at contact, strike zone discipline, and pull-side power potential. A polished high school senior that could make an immediate impact at the collegiate level.

Corey Musselman, LHP, Zachary HS
A 5-foot-10, 170-pound left-hander from Zachary, LA. Pitchability, strike throwing left-hander with a simple, clean, repeatable delivery, and quick arm out of a high-3/4 release. Fastball sits 82-84 mph with some arm side run and deception. Shows a decent curveball with 11/5 shape, quality depth and spin. Also shows an outstanding changeup with arm speed, deception, and late life that he will throw in any count. A quality three-pitch mix guy that has an advanced understanding of how to pitch, is a fiery competitor and commands all of his pitches in the strike zone.

Jesse Fruge, LHP, Rosephine
A 5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic pitchability left-hander. Clean, quick arm out of a mid-3/4 release with a clean, in-line and repeatable delivery. Fastball will sit 81-83 mph and will touch 85. Shows a feel for a quality spinning breaking ball with 1/7 shape, some deception and quality depth. Also will mix in a changeup with arm speed, deception and occasional late life.

Brian Metoyer, RHP, Natchitoches Central
A 6-foot-2, 160-pound right-hander from Natchitoches, LA. Long, lean, wiry, and extremely projectable frame with lots of room to add strength. Clean, simple, repeatable delivery with an extremely fast arm out of high-3/4 release. Fastball sits 87-89 mph, touching 90 with occasional life and deception. Still developing a feel for a breaking ball, but has flashed a quality spinning curveball with 11/5 shape, deception and depth. Still a fairly raw product, but has extreme upside with present athleticism, projectable frame, and a clean, loose arm action.
