With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Michigan is eagerly anticipating bringing the great state of Michigan the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Byron Center Bulldogs

Team Name: Byron Center Bulldogs
Head Coach: Jeff Gdowski, 35-24
Division: I
2015 Record: 21-10
Conference Record: OK Green, 13-2
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/3

2016 Team Strengths:

  • Speed
  • Pitching depth
  • Defense

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Inexperienced pitchers past #1
  • Power hitting

Coach Outlook: Although we won the conference and district last year, we did son on the arms of our top two senior pitchers. We bring up a good crop of young pitchers in our junior class this year, and should be deeper through our pitching rotation. We return a good nucleus of talent at the plate and in the field, and welcome in a group of juniors that were very successful as freshmen and sophomores the past two seasons.
