Ben Miller - PBR Player of the Week: March 11 - 17, 2019

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

Player of the Week nominations are submitted by High School coaches across North Carolina each week.  Along with the nominations, Prep Baseball Report is diving into box scores, talking to coaches and scouts, and attending as many games as possible.

The PBR Player of the Week for March 12, 2019 will go back over the past two weeks with the start of the season for most teams occurring in the middle of week 1.  Also, the rain has hampered the game schedule across the state.  Players from across North Carolina had big weeks as the season opened.  The rain may have slowed the schedule but the list of players that are off to quick starts is long.  You can see a full list of players off to a hot start in Diamond Notes, a collection of notes, stats, and highlights from the past week.

The PBR Player of the Week for March 11 - 17, 2019 is Ben Miller (3B/RHP, C.E. Jordan HS, 2019).  Miller is the reigning 4A NCBCA Player of the Year and has picked up in 2019 where he left off in 2018.  For the week, Miller hit .500 with a double, homerun, and 2 RBI.  The home run and RBIs were huge as they walked off rival Durham Riverside in a tight one run game.  In the 1st of the two game set with Riverside during the week, Miller worked 6 innings on the bump, striking out 7, without allowing a run.

Jordan checked in at No. 12 in the PBR Power 25.  They are ranked No. 1 in the 4A classification in the PBR/NCBCA Coaches Poll.  Miller has been a big part of that success on the mound and in the box.  Jordan is currently sitting at 9-0 on the year.
