Churchill 3 – Johnson 1

Thursday, March 15

The Churchill Chargers put an end to a two game skid on Thursday with a win over the Johnson Jaguars. The low scoring affair was highlighted by a 2-for-3 day at the plate by Churchill’s uncommitted senior DH Jett Collins. Churchill’s pitcher, 2018 Texas A&M signee Landry Wideman, picked up the win with six innings of work, allowing the one earned run on three hits, five walks, and three strikeouts. 2018 Houston signee Carlos Flores picked up the save.

Johnson’s starting pitcher, 2018 Wofford signee Jaydan Martinez, took the loss after issuing the three runs, one earned, four walks, two hit-by-pitches, and eight strikeouts.

Landry Wideman, RHP, Churchill High School, 2018
Texas A&M Commit – Wideman worked to contact in the outing, generating ten fly-ball outs. His fastball settled in at 84-86, topping at 88, and had a lot of late life that missed barrels. His slider clocked in at 76-78.
