DFW Scouting Notebook - Preseason

Brandon Gowins
Assistant Scouting Director

As the High School season kicks off here in Texas, we take a look at some of the players that have stood out in the first couple weeks of the season. There is no shortage of talent in the DFW this year and there is depth in each class.

Rockwall Heath

+Jett Williams -  The 38th Player in our national rankings continues to impress and shoot up people’s draft boards.  Williams had some noticeable weight gains from the last time I saw him in the fall and looks more physical while maintaining his elite athleticism. He had 2 hits in this scrimmage including a HR to LC.  His bat to ball skills continue to impress and while he is always looking to do damage, there isn't a lot of swing and miss to his game.  He handled SS with ease, making some plays coming in and in the 6 hole.  He has plenty of arm strength for the position, and he also has the ability to be an elite Centerfielder if need be.
