The Texas high school season kicks off on February 19, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 26, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25.

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. SEASON PREVIEW

Coach Lenihan and the Lakeview Centennial Panthers return four starters and three pitchers from last season's 19-win team. Returning three pitchers gives the Panthers an advantage on the mound with the likes of RHP/SS Dylan Hill (Second Team All-District), LHP/1B Josh Morton (Second Team All-District) and RHP/OF Jose Castillo. OF Justin Ortega is the offensive catalyst for the Panthers, as well at  SS/3B Jarret Adams. who started at QB this fall for Centennial's football team. Keep an eye on freshman infielder Amir Mason, a switch hitting athlete that also plays hoops for the Panthers.
