The Chicago White Sox regional work for players from Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Arkansas had 23 players advance from the mini-camp round onto the regional round. Here is a look at the top performers from Arkansas.

Runners

Thomas Broyles 2016 OF Fayetteville HS
Broyles is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and build. He showed off his premium speed running a 6.60 in the 60. Defensively he played through the ball with a smooth exchange and an average arm with accuracy. Offensively starts from an athletic stance, he has a smooth load. During his hand load he arm bars, causing his swing to be rotational, with some length the swing. He attacks the baseball with average bat speed. Overall Broyles is a great athlete with solid defensive skills and an offensive game that finds barrel on a consistent basis. He should develop into a quality collegiate outfielder.

Luke Bandy 2016 MIF Shiloh Christian HS
Bandy is a 6-foot, 175-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and build. Bandy showed is athleticism running a 6.61 in the 60. Defensively he played through the baseball with solid actions, his hands are a bit stiff. He had a long exchange but really showed off his strong arm with accuracy. Offensively he attacked the baseball with fast bat speed and a slight uphill swing plane. He maintained good balance through to extension. Bandy is a Dallas Baptist commit.

Hitting

Lance Harville-Thomas 2016 OF Catholic HS
Harville-Thomas is a 6-foot-1 230-pound outfielder with a large frame and physical build. He showed off his strength and raw power during batting practice. During his batting practice round he drove balls to the pull side running two of them out of the yard. He starts from an athletic stance with a smooth load and transition. He generates power a combination of fast bat speed and strength. His swing has an uphill bat path. He did get around balls on the outer third, but hammered balls middle in. Defensively he worked through the ball showing an accurate arm. During the 60 he ran a 6.75 showing off his athleticism.

Paxton Wallace 2017 CIF Greenbrier HS
Wallace is a 6-foot 200-pound corner infielder with a medium frame and a physical build. Wallace showed off his ability to hit the ball all over the field during batting practice. He starts from an athletic stance with a fluid load. He attacks the baseball with a short compact swing with fast bat speed. He does a stays balanced throughout his swing. Defensively he played through the baseball with average hands and a quick release. He showed off a strong accurate arm.

Pitching

Evan Lee 2016 LHP Bryant HS
Lee is a 6-foot-1 180-pound LHP/OF with a large frame and an athletic build. On the mound Tuesday he showed above average arm strength with pitchability. He worked his fastball down in the zone at 88-91 mph. He complimented his fastball with a 72-74 curveball with 1/7 shape and late break and a change up he threw with near fastball arm speed and arm side run. He repeats his mechanics allowing him to throw strikes on a consistent basis. His rhythm is rushed for me but it works for him. During the 60 portion of the day he ran a 6.7. Overall Lee is a good athlete with a clean quick arm that understands how to pitch.

Dylan Thompson 2016, LHP Catholic HS
Thompson is a 6-foot-3 175-pound LHP with a large frame and a thin build. Mechanically he is sound with repeatable mechanics and rhythm. He works from an H ¾ arm slot with a loose quick arm. He command the strike zone with his fastball 85-87 mph. His secondary pitches both were thrown with near fastball arm speed. The curveball has 1/7 action with gradual break thrown a 68-70 mph. The change up was thrown 68-70 mph as well but has arm side run and depth. Overall Thompson projects to throw harder as he matures and adds weight. Other than physical strength he is a collegiate ready pitcher.
