ET Canes Sweep Double Header at OBU

Arkadelphia- ET Canes swept a double header Sunday on the campus of Ouchita Baptist University. They beat Diamond Baseball 3-2 in game one and the Marion Troopers 11-0 in five innings in game two.

Game one they were lead offensively by Cale Ridling, he went 2-3 with a double and had three RBI's. Trip Evans picked up the victory giving up zero earned runs with four strike outs and no walks in four innings of work. Trip's fastball was 83-85 and located his fastball well.

Game two was tight through the first four innings until the Canes exploded for ten runs in top of the 5th. Offensivley Ridling continued his good day going 3-3. The senior from Genoa Central received some help by high school teammate Austin Cutchel, as he went 2-3 with two RBI's. Hayden Hampton also had two RBI's going 2-2 with a triple.Dustin Grammar and Hunter McGillbery combined for the shut out on the mound. Grammar picked up the victory with 3 innings pitched and 4 punch outs. He pitched off his fastball (77-81) and located his off-speed pitches early in the count for strikes. McGilbery closed the door working two scoreless innings with 4 strike outs. His fastball was (80-84) and he went to his sharp 12/6 breaking ball as his out pitch.

The canes will be in action on September 27th and 28th, competing in the 2D Sports tournament. The tournament  will be on the campuses of Centenary College and Louisiana State University Shreveport.
