As we prepare for the upcoming 2016 high school season, we will be taking a glimpse at programs from around the state.

Season Outlook
Laurel will be led this year on the offensive end by four players that have shown to have a career of success.  Mikey Young (.431 career BA), Michael Bynoe (.337, 1 HR), Jordan Abbott (.371, 2 HR), and Jarrett Leishear (.351) will pace the offensive attack for the Spartans in PG county. Beside those four however, Laurel will look to find more options to give them a deeper lineup. The coaching staff has identifies overall athleticism and a deeper pitching rotation to be a strength for the team this 2016 season. Coaches also noted Haroun Savage and Tristan Espinal as players to keep an eye on this upcoming season for the team. The Spartans will be hoping to make another run this year like 2015 where they made it to the region semi final and lost a one run game to Northwestern.
