As we prepare for the upcoming 2016 high school season, we will be taking a glimpse at programs from around the state.

Season Outlook
The Falcons this year move up to 3A in the MPSSAA after a run in the 2015 playoffs all the way to the Regional Semi-Finals where they lost to South Carroll. Justin Souder leads Poolesville on the offensive end after hitting .409 last season to go along with leading the team in RBI (12) and doubles (6).  Other key returners on offense include Brady Pearre (.326 BA), Jorden Cissel (.312 BA) and Matthew Convers (.267 BA). The lineup will have a few holes to fill after losing some key starters to graduation from a team that hit .319 in 2015. Cole Carmack is another to keep an eye on returning to the lineup.

Pitching looks to be a team strength heading into the 2016 season. Back are the top three arms for the Falcons in Cissel (5-2, 34.2 IP, 3.43 ERA), Pearre (3-1, 32 IP, 1.75 ERA), and Souder (3-0, 19.2 IP, 0.71 ERA). Pitching should be the consistent for the team and lead the way as the Falcons come together on the offensive end. 

Two newcomers that could play key roles for the Falcons are OF/2B Cooper Myers and OF Colin Metz.  Though the jump to 3A will make it tougher this 2016 campaign.  Watch for Cissel, Pearre, and Souder to lead the way for Poolesville as they could make a run this postseason in the 3A West.
