Michigan Spotlight Game: Fowler vs Beal City - Doubleheader

Michigan Spotlight Game: Fowler vs Beal City - Doubleheader

Game 1

FOWLER - Fowler hosted Beal City in a non-conference match-up and came away with a sweep, winning by the scores of 4-2 and 5-4.

2018 Dane Armbrustmacher started for Fowler in game one and kept Beal City in check through the first four innings, striking out five while allowing just one hit.

2018 Brett Upton started for Beal City countered with three perfect innings, striking out five.

Fowler struck first in the bottom of the fourth.

A Beal City error and a single by 2018 Mason Pline put runners at second and third and 2017 Jace Feldpausch drove both runs in with a 2 RBI single.

Beal City tied the game with two runs of their own in the top of the fifth.

2018 Ryan Schafer got Beal City on the board with a RBI double and came around to score on a RBI single from 2018 Aaron Schafer.

Fowler scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to win game one 4-2.

Pline led off the inning with a double. Feldpausch drove in Pline with a RBI single and 2017 Travis Armbrustmacher drove in the second run on a fielders choice.

Armbrustmacher got the win on the mound, striking out seven while allowing just three hits in five innings. Upton struck out nine batters over five innings, allowing four hits.

Game 2

In game two, Upton hit a double and scored on a Fowler error to put Beal City up 1-0 in the top of the first.

Fowler answered with three runs in the bottom of the first. Pline drove in two with a double to left field and scored the third run on a wild pitch.

Beal City loaded the bases in the top of the fifth and took a 4-3 lead on a bases clearing double by 2019 Keegan Haynes.

That lead was short lived, as Fowler scored two in the bottom of the fifth to win 5-4. 2017 Dallas Watts and 2017 Josh Luttig each had RBI singles in the inning.
